The dinner in the evening was awesome! And would be happy to return to this hotel just for an evening meal.
I did not like having no form of chair to sit on. Or no air conditioning, thank goodness there was a fan.
Very convenient location, particularly for rail travellers. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.
Thanks to the spell of good weather, the room was too warm for comfort. Opening the windows introduced a lot of road noise.
Excellent location, friendly staff, excellent food
didnt bother me but i can see the lack of a lift being inconvenient to some
location, parking for train station, friendliness of reception staff - personnal touch, room clean and comfortable.
Problem using phone in room for direct outside call, however, reception staff extremely helpful and problem resolved
I used it for its proximity to the station, complementary parking whilst I was in London and good price for the evening.
The decor and furnishings were a good standard; the staff were very attentive; room service was prompt.
The overall temperature in the room remained too high throughout. It was not possible toopen both windows although a desk fan had been provided. It was impossible to sleep due to the noise of the traffic through the open window or the fan. The corridor accessing the room was noticably hotter then the previous area of the hotel. This uncomfortable temperature marred the stay and comments were passed on to Reception.
Over the road from the train station so great location, good staff, good room and a big bed.
The shower was pretty useless.
Friendly staff, very good food, large bedroom
Great location, good sized and clean room. Breakfast arrived in my room on time.
Room smelled of cooking when I arrived (because the window had been left open as it was a hot day) however this went away when I closed the window. Very loud music from bar downstairs when I got back at 11 ish (although this did stop around midnight); breakfast included burnt toast and tea was overstewed and getting cold; when I tried to check out early in the morning there was no-one at reception (even though I had been promised the night before that there would be) so one of the catering staff had to run around trying to find someone. None of these things were very bad problems but not what I would expect for the price.
The Selection for Breakfast service was excellent, prompt. All Staff helpful
Having a room on the top floor is not recommended as the rooms are very very warm due to the boilers on this floor, you can open the windows, but it is very noisey.
being a 'morning' person, I greatly appreciate my breakfasts. the best part about GNH was the breakfast choice, being a vegetarian I could indulge in either my beloved continental type breakfast or the vege hot breakfast. most places do not offer this variation.
I was rather disturbed by the fact that the computerised door locking system seems to have a mind of sits own and locked me out on one occasion. I complained to staff who immediately sorted things out. I experienced this again on the 3rd day of my stay but this time persevered and the system eventually decided that I should be admitted. However, this left me feeling rather insecure about gaining access each time we returned to our room. I even began to theorise about what would happen if we returned in the middle of the night and could not gain access - not a good feeling. I was even presented with an 'extra' bill for £10 upon departure! Your efficient receptionist again soon had this sorted out. It would therefore seem obvious that, if I had been booked in for a longer period I would have been worried if she was not around to sort things out.
having a rest, not rushing, staff was very helpful.
Excellent, spacious room with good sized bathroom. Location - close to station and city centre.
Convenience for station
My first room had a failed wc and I had to move
Convenience for the airport and ease of parking
Small room no seating, no air con
